White-tail Management Programs
We are the first company to offer a fully integrated white-tail management program. Inclusive packages can include surveys, harvest recommendations, permit acquisition, high fencing clearing, food plots, stand placement and sales, and native restoration.
Our clients include private land owners, wildlife associations, wildlife cooperatives, developments, corporate leases, and hunting clubs. A biologist from Ranch Logistics will work with you, one-on-one, to design and implement a customized program whose quality cannot be matched!
All of our programs are habitat based, meaning the first effort is made to restore, enhance, or reclaim quality deer habitat. Often, there is an effort to manage for multiple species so recommendations are made to accommodate all species of interest. We first look at what the limiting factors are in your area (i.e. food, water, cover) and make appropriate recommendations. The next effort will be made to survey the population and make necessary adjustments to meet your goals.
Services
- White-tail Management Plans - A comprehensive 5 year plan guaranteed to qualify for any necessary permits. It will include 3 maps (Aerial photography, Topographical, and Soils) that will contain all stands, roads, feeders, pastures, etc. It will also include recommended habitat enhancement projects and any other information necessary to maximize your herds’ potential.
- Permit Acquisition - Four types:
- Managed Lands Deer Permit (MLD)
- Trap, Transport, & Transplant Permit (TTT)
- Trap, Transport, & Process Permit (TTP)
- Antlerless Deer Control Permit (ADCP)
- Hourly Consultations - These are on-site meetings where you drive the content of discussion. We will be available to answer any questions about wildlife, vegetation, or soils and later provide written recommendations following the meetings.
- Surveys - Three types:
- Spotlight Surveys
- Camera Surveys
- Helicopter Surveys (Sub Contractor)
- Harvest Recommendations - These are based on information from population surveys (whether you use us or do them yourself). We will provide recommendations that will include at minimum:
- Number of bucks to harvest
- Number of does to harvest
- Age & Antler criteria for bucks
- Interpolated Hunting Pressure Maps - This is a service provided only by Ranch Logistics. In order to find out if hunting pressure is evenly distributed across the property, we use an Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) analysis between stands and other harvest locations. The product is a map that shows which areas are hunted the heaviest and which areas are hunted the lightest.
- Harvest Data Acquisition - If you lease your property you can choose to have your lessee’s send all harvest data to us for processing. We can compile data and produce recommendations for your ranch. This eases pressure on agency staff and takes a time consuming task out of your hands.
Agency Cooperation
We have an excellent working relationship with Texas Parks & Wildlife to get you qualified in LAMPS, MLDP’s, ADCP, TTT & TTP Programs. We also work cooperatively with other state and federal agencies.
